Brains Get Famous is driven by a vital commitment to brain tumor patients and to this disease. It does not seek profit for the NGO or recognition.

All of BGF's resources, Maria's and her family's personal donations, as well as all other donations, are dedicated 100% to sustaining, helping, guiding, and accompanying people affected by brain tumors, their side effects, and their long-term physical and emotional consequences.

Through patient support, medical guidance, second opinions, therapies, artistic and visibility projects, research collaborations, and the coverage of needs related to diagnosis, treatment, and care, BGF accompanies patients and families, connects professionals around the world across different fields, promotes projects, and directs its resources toward supporting the real needs of patients and families during diagnosis, treatment, and care.

A global initiative to proclaim October 14 as the Global Day to Honor Brain Tumor Patients.

Brains Get Famous is a nonprofit organization. María and the BGF team, together with Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa and his team during the initiative’s early stages, in 2021, have been working to have October 14 proclaimed the Global Day to Honor Brain Tumor Patients. Since 2022, Dr. Christian Brogna, the Vice President of BGF, has joined the petition and the campaign. In 2023, there were several acclaimed doctors, among others Dr. Manuel Pedrosa and Dr. Raúl A. Echeverri G., together with international personalities, institutions, artists, patients, and brands who joined María and BGF for the same aim, the proclamation of OCTOBER 14 TO BE THE GLOBAL DAY TO HONOR BRAIN TUMOR PATIENTS. Today, it is being recognized.

From 2026 onwards, we are delighted to welcome Alessandra Brío to this campaign. She is the president of the Niccolò’s Light Foundation, which was set up by her son, Niccolò Iglesias, for him and for other brain tumor patients. We will continue to bring light to the world in his honor and in his memory.

Our Story

From a family experience to a global movement.

The Origin of Brains Get Famous

The Brains Get Famous Society was founded in 2021 by María de Kannon Clè, her nephew, Ciro González-Mohíno and their family with the collaboration of Michael Brando, a close friend of the family, Marlon Brando’s grandson and partnership of Maria in Brando Pictures, after Maria was diagnosed late with a brain tumor in the emergency room in November 2019.

She decided to create a platform to give visibility to brain tumors and help others, adults and children alike, to receive help in detecting the early signs of brain tumors and following through with specific and early diagnoses.

Brains Get Famous team is made up of our founder and President the film director and producer María de Kannon Clè and the young man Ciro González-Mohíno, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering student at USC, in Los Ángeles, California, holding an IB diploma at Liceo Europeo (Moraleja, Madrid), Ciro speaks Spanish, English, Chinese and French, Ciro created this wonderful Logo for us.

BGF is made from the compromise and respect of Maria to the patients of Brain tumors and to this cause., and thanks to María’s commitment, as well as her family, Michael Brando, friends, doctors of all disciplines, sponsors and our ambassadors who come from both the internationally known artistic world and anonymous people, patients and collaborators. Brains Get Famous family is dedicated to providing brain tumor support for survivors and patients worldwide.
