Brains Get Famous Celebrates Its First Charity Awards Gala
Madrid, December 18th.
On December 12, 2023, the first gala/concert and awards ceremony of the NGO Brains Get Famous took place in Madrid, at NH Casino de Madrid, Calle Alcalá 15.
The gala was hosted by filmmaker María de Kannon Clè, President of the NGO, and Italian neurosurgeon Dr. Christian Brogna, Medical and Scientific Director of the organization.
Among the awardees:
Enrique Sarasola, entrepreneur, President and founder of "Room Mate".
Fran Mohíno, multidisciplinary artist and patron of the NGO.
Garry Christian, singer and lead vocalist of the British band "The Christians".
Hugo Rovira, CEO of NH Hotels.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid.
Javier Angulo, journalist and former Director of the "Seminci Film Festival".Jesús Álvarez, journalist.
Isabel Martín Monzón, neuropsychologist.
Jesús Martín Fernández, Spanish neurosurgeon.
Jordi Ballart, Mayor of Terrassa.
Manuel Plaza, doctor at "Clínica Maribel Yébenes".
Miguel Fernández-Palacios, Ambassador of Spain to Italy.
Quirino Ordaz, Ambassador of Mexico to Spain.

Posthumous tribute:
At this first Brains Get Famous Gala, a posthumous tribute was paid to artist and designer David Delfín, who passed away due to a brain tumor.
The tribute to David Delfín was attended by gallery owners and friends of the NGO, Topacio Fresh and her husband, Israel.
The event also brought together prominent figures from the worlds of culture, art, and society, including Susana Griso, Íñigo Afán, Gabino Diego, Richy Castellanos, Eloy Martín de la Pera, Aranza Garrido, Antonio Pascual, Irinni Fournier, Ángel Blasco, Ciro González-Mohíno, Antonio Escobar, Igor Fioravanti, and Carlos Marrero, among others.
The gala featured a charity performance by filmmaker and singer Javier Elorrieta and flamenco guitarist Andrea Salcedo.

Oviedo Shines Its Light blue

Thanks to the generous support of Oviedo’s Mayor, Alfredo Canteli, and his remarkable team, the city has joined Brains Get Famous in its campaign to have October 14 officially proclaimed the Global Day to Honor Brain Tumor Patients.
As part of this commitment, Oviedo City Hall was illuminated on October 14, 2024, followed by the Campoamor Theatre on October 14, 2025, shining a light in honor of brain tumor patients and in support of BGF’s international petition.

Mexico City Shines in Light Blue, Supporting BGF
Mexico City has joined Brains Get Famous’ international illumination campaign by lighting up the Monument to the Revolution in support of the organization and its mission to raise awareness of brain tumors.
The Government of Mexico City illuminated the Monument to the Revolution at the request of María de Kannon Clè, founder and President of Brains Get Famous, with the aim of supporting BGF’s campaign to proclaim October 14 as the World Day in Honor of Brain Tumor Patients.
Since 2023, Mexico City has continued to support this international campaign by lighting up on October 14, standing with brain tumor patients and helping give global visibility to their reality.
The proclamation request was submitted to the United Nations and the European Parliament by Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa, María de Kannon Clè, and their respective NGOs, Mission Brain and Brains Get Famous.
