Two Cities. One Light. Thousands of Stories.
Venice and Padua joined Brains Get Famous’ international illumination campaign, transforming landmark buildings and public spaces into symbols of recognition, dignity and visibility for brain tumor patients and their families.
On 14 October 2026, light blue reached Venice and Padua as both cities joined the international Brains Get Famous campaign in honour of brain tumor patients, their families and those who are no longer with us.
Across historic façades, civic landmarks and public spaces, the light carried a shared message: every patient, every family and every story deserves to be recognised, seen and heard.
Venice · A New City Joins
From the Grand Canal to the Heart of Mestre
Ca’ Farsetti, Ca’ Loredan, Mestre Municipal Hall and the Civic Tower of Mestre brought the campaign’s light to four emblematic locations across Venice and Mestre.
Venice’s participation brought the campaign to one of the world’s most recognisable cities. From the waters of the Grand Canal to Mestre’s civic centre, each illuminated landmark became part of an international network committed to making the reality of brain tumor patients visible.
Padua · Fontana della Stanga
When Water and Light Carry the Same Message
In Padua, the Fontana della Stanga was transformed by light blue, creating a public gesture of recognition for patients, families and every life affected by a brain tumor.
“Every light represents a patient, a family, a story and a voice that deserves to be seen and heard.”
Brains Get Famous
Turning Awareness into Action
Brains Get Famous is an international nonprofit organisation run entirely by volunteers. Since the campaign began in Málaga in 2021, it has grown into an international network of cities united by a common objective: establishing 14 October as the World Day in Honour of Brain Tumor Patients.
The campaign is led by María de Kannon Clè, President and Co-Founder of Brains Get Famous. Its medical and scientific direction is led by Dr. Christian Brogna, neurosurgeon, Vice President and Medical and Scientific Director of the organisation.
Their combined determination has helped bring the campaign to Italy and strengthen its medical, human and international dimension. Every participating city helps transform awareness into meaningful public action.
